Instructions

Prep · 10 minutes

  1. Clean your berries. It's up to you how deep you want to go, but I find soaking them in a large bowl of cold water, and scooping them out of the water into a strainer gets the job done. Feel free to add some vinegar or other food-safe cleaner to the water - but add a second rinse phase if you go this route.
  2. Find a sheet-pan that fits in your freezer, and clear a space in your freezer for it. It'll need to be there for 6-24 hours.
  3. Lay out your berries on the tray in a single layer. Make sure they're as dry as possible before putting them on the

Freezing · 6 hours

  1. Put the tray in the freezer. The berries should be frozen enough to bag within about 6 hours - but it's fine to leave them for up to 24. Leaving them in longer could lead to freezer burn.

Bagging · 10 minutes

  1. Transfer your berries to your container of choice. I use Ziplock freezer bags. Label them clearly. Should last about a year in the freezer bags before they get weird.
